Heart-Led Artistry: Photographing Children and Families with Special Needs and Circumstances (Carolina Gonzalez)
Limited Capacity seats available

Every child and family has a story to tell. As photographers and storytellers we can connect on a personal level to discover how each story can be told genuinely. Join Carolina Gonzalez in a candid roundtable dialogue to bring the topic of photographing children with special needs to light. While photographing a child with special needs may present some challenges, we share the responsibility of educating ourselves on how best to serve and genuinely honor their story. Carolina Gonzalez will share how capturing intimate stories of children and families with special needs and circumstances has fueled her desire to raise awareness by bringing this conversation to the forefront of the industry. We will discuss the importance of creating an open dialogue with the family you are set to photograph before the session takes place and tips on executing a successful session. Join us if your heart is leading you to work with special needs children and families or you are looking for tips and advice on how to meaningfully convey a compelling story through photographs. We will also dedicate some time to discussing several charitable and non-profit organizations that partner with photographers looking to give back to others with their time and talent. This intimate roundtable is open to photographers of all levels, both hobbyists and working professionals, and will take place in a home-like lifestyle suite.

This indoor boutique program will take place in a home-like hotel suite.

Learning Objectives:
1. Engage in an open, constructive dialogue in how we, as photographers, can educate and prepare ourselves to best serve children and families with special needs and circumstances.
2. Learn from a parent's perspective: The instructor will share a compilation of tips and considerations parents of children with special needs would like to share with child and family photographers.
3. Receive a list of charitable and non-profit organizations that partner with professional photographers to provide the gift of photography to children with special needs or illnesses, as well as children and families with special circumstances.
4. Learn to get on the child's level, engage in their interests, and how to best make the child and family feel comfortable during the session.
5. Learn how working with special needs children and families with special circumstances will greatly impact the development of your artistic voice.
