Shoot What Matters: Creating Unmistakable Work (Virginia Greuloch)
Limited Capacity seats available

We all want our work to be unmistakable. We want to be able to be seen and heard through our images, to have our visual voice be recognized, and to feel confident in our ability to create consistent work that represents who we are humans and as artists. In order to be able to do all those things, we have to first become very clear on some questions that too often go unanswered when we pick up our cameras. What are you paying attention to? How can you tell this visual story in a way that only you can tell it? How can you use your unique point-of-view to create art that is unmistakable?

Join Virginia Greuloch on a visual examination of six simple questions you can use to create art that is meaningful to you every time you pick up your camera. Explore different technical and sensory techniques that you can use to tell your story while gaining tips on how to harness your “you-ness” to produce images that speak to what truly matters to you at your core and define your visual voice. A live editing portion of images that almost ended up on the cutting room floor will show you how to critically analyze each image to create some of your best, most personal work. Whether you’re a professional photographer or the family historian, this session will give you new insight and tools to use on your journey to becoming the photographer you were meant to be.

1. Using your own personal values as a base, learn to identify what matters most to you in the scene you're trying to photograph.

2. Explore 6 simple concepts you can use to bring your personal story and artistic vision to life.

3. Learn to critically examine your less-than-perfect images to transform them from something you might have thrown away into art that you love.
