Filming From the Heart: Critical Thinking for Video Storytelling and Inspiring Techniques to Breathe New Life into your Films (Angie Klaus)
Limited Capacity seats available

Have you learned the basics of filmmaking and now you're ready to take your work to the next level? Come learn how to figure out what might be missing from your films and gain ideas for where to go next in your craft. In this classroom program, we will hone in on what makes a film memorable and impactful. We will explore concrete ways to boost the creativity and interest in your video projects using a variety of storytelling and shooting techniques. And finally, we will cover enhanced editing methods incorporating video and audio clips, as well as music, to infuse layers of meaning into your projects. Leave the class feeling inspired and ready to pour your heart into your next film. This class will be most beneficial to students who are familiar with basic videography and simple editing, and who want to polish projects while adding emotional depth, meaning, and audiovisual variety.

Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will learn about what practices and tendencies might hold us back in filmmaking and how to recognize when we are stuck in a creative rut, as well as what to do when we find ourselves uninspired in our work.
2. Participants will learn techniques for making a greater visual and emotional impact during shooting.
3. Participants will learn ways to fortify films during editing.
4. Participants will understand the role of feeling in every film and how to pack beauty, meaning, and emotion into each project.
